The Guardian's Path
Being named a Guardian is not a task. It is an act of profound trust — a quiet promise between two people.
The Role
When someone names you as their Guardian on The Echoes, they are saying: "I trust you to carry this forward." You have been chosen to hold the key to someone's legacy — the person who ensures a voice isn't lost to silence, but shared when the time is right.
A Guardian does not need to do anything while their person is alive. You cannot see their private messages now. You simply exist as a trusted witness, holding the key to a door that may one day need to be opened.
How It Works
1. The Invitation
You receive an email inviting you to become someone's Guardian. By accepting, you simply agree to be the point of contact. There is no obligation, no pressure — just a quiet commitment.
2. The Period of Silence
Our system gently monitors the user's activity. If they haven't checked in for over a year, we will reach out to them first — not to you. We exhaust every option before turning to their Guardian.
3. The Call
If the user remains silent after our attempts, we contact you. Your only responsibility is to confirm: is their silence temporary, or is their voice now ready to become an Echo? Either answer is honored with equal gravity.
The Responsibility
Being a Guardian is not a burden. You do not need to monitor anything, remember any dates, or check any dashboards. The system will come to you when the time is right.
All we ask is this: when we call, be there. Answer with honesty and care. You are the bridge between a private life and an eternal legacy.
"Voices fade, but Echoes remain."
